Search Engine Submission
Search Engine Submission is not the best way to launch your site. It is far better for Google and the other major search engines to find your site organically, and preferably from a high page rank site. This is why many people will buy backlinks from sites with a high pagerank, although if you get caught your site may be penalized!
Still, many people like to submit their site to multiple search engines, so if you are going to do this, you should use a script to automate the process if possible, as the benefits are debatable.
Some caveats:
- Use a “spam-catcher” email address, as many of these submission services will spam you to death after submitting your URL & email.
- Many of these scripts are becoming obsolete as more and more sites add “captchas” and other tools to block automated submissions.
- Some of these “search engines” are nothing more than methods of capturing your email and later sending you all kinds of commercial offers (spam).
